Vintage Walborg Beaded Handbag Purse

Beautiful, vintage hand made in Japan. The purse is perfect for a bride, maybe “something old”?  A few beads are missing on the handle- I used a little tacky glue to keep any more from falling. Throughout the purse, a few beads may be missing, but it is in still in great condition. The purse has a gold tone along the closure, and is absolutely beautiful.
L to R it measures 6” from the top and from the bottom is 7.5” - it is longer from the bottom than top, the length is 5”.

Vintage Walborg beaded flapper purse

This gorgeous, vintage wooden bead Walborg handbag was made in Japan. This purse belonged to my mother and she kept it in a box with some of her other vintage accessories from the 60's and 70's, so I venture to say it hasn't seen the light of day in several decades.

The thread and general integrity of the bag seems strong; the pouch zipper opens and closes as smoothly as the day it was purchased. There is a slight pen mark on the interior fabric but otherwise it is clean inside (see pics). There is also a chip in one of the beads near the top of the fold in the back (see pics) but is not very noticeable. This bag will make an excellent accessory in a variety of occasions.

The bag measures (outside) 8.5" wide, 7" tall, and 1.5" deep. The handle extends approx. 8".

Note: I could not get a good picture of the tag as it is tucked down in the bottom corner of the purse and wanting to stay in its folded back position but it is indeed an authentic Walborg bag and was "Made in Japan".

 This is a classic 1920's flapper style. 
All of the hardware on this purse is gold in color and is in excellent condition. All of the beading is also in very good condition. The inside of the purse is lined with ivory silky fabric and has a few light marks but is otherwise in perfect condition. There is a fabric pocket on the inside of the purse. This is about  9" by 6" excluding the chain strap length

Made in Italy exclusively for Walborg from the 1960's or 70's. Lovely tapestry fabric in shades of metallic gold, copper and tan with some blue and red in the center floral design. The print is the same on the front and back. The interior has a gold satin lining. 1 slip pocket.  Snap closure on the flap.  The gold chain strap has a 13" drop.  Very nice condition. The tapestry fabric has a few small imperfections in the weave but shows no wear. The lining has some discoloration stain along the edges of the flap.  Very pretty bag. I ship same or next business day.

The strap/handle can be used or tucked in the inside for a Clutch purse, it is a round beaded strap/handle on inside medal hinges. The inside is lined with white Satin, it also has an open pocket.
