SEGA Mega Drive Master System

Note: The Mega Drive pad can be used on the Master System, but cannot be used on the Mark III or earlier models.

Comparison with the Super Famicom official controller:

Directional pad:
- The stroke is slightly larger, providing good responsiveness, and diagonal inputs in shooting games are significantly better. It was able to smoothly draw circles.

Button feel:
- You can feel the mass and the buttons have a slightly firm impression. When pressing XYZ, it feels similar to the Saturn pad. It doesn't have the cheap, clicky feel like the old Famicom compatible machines.
 
In terms of shape, it seems that the technology used in the production of the Mega Drive Mini pad has been applied.

The C button is one level lower than AB. The ABC buttons are of the type with a central indentation.

XYZ descends gradually along the case.
The edges are rounded without corners, slightly smaller than ABC, and even the finer details resemble the Saturn pad.

Rapid fire function:
- Rapid fire is available with the turbo function, but all buttons are set to rapid fire and individual settings cannot be adjusted.

MODE:
- Used to switch between 3-button and 6-button mode upon power input. This is to address compatibility issues with some software on the Mega Drive that require 6 buttons.
