The spines are bound w/ thread, for reasons I cannot fathom, & the tightness varies from book to book. The Parent/Teacher Guide is missing a couple of stickers. I think their overall condition lies somewhere between a "good-" or a "fair +." They are part of an award-winning Scholastic reading program, however, & they are an invaluable resource for teaching emerging readers.
