Gift Card Exchange Terms and Conditions

These Terms describe the rights and responsibilities of Mercari users who engage in the gift card exchange program (the “Program”) with CardCash.com (“CC”) via the Mercari platform.

  • For a limited time, registered Mercari users may elect to exchange unwanted gift cards, merchandise credits, vouchers, gift codes and other similar pre-paid closed-loop products in electronic and physical form (collectively, “gift cards”) for Mercari credit by using the services of CC. Such users can access this functionality by clicking https://www.mercari.com/us/gift-card-exchange/, and will be presented with a page hosted and operated by CardCash. On that page, users will provide the merchant name and balance of the gift card they wish to exchange.

  • Users will then be presented with a monetary offer by CardCash. The offer represents the amount of Mercari credit that CardCash is willing to pay for the applicable gift card. Such offers will typically be less than the remaining balance for the gift card. Users have no obligation to agree to CC’s offer or participate in the Program.

  • If CC’s offer is acceptable to the user, they will be asked to provide additional information about the gift card (including, without limitation, the card number and PIN) and contact information (email and phone number).

  • Please note that the gift card exchange program is operated solely by CC. Any issues regarding the offer, the information requested and how it is processed should be directed to CC at mercari@cardcash.com. CC’s services are provided pursuant to its Conditions of Use and Privacy Policy.

  • Once the offer is accepted and CC confirms that the transaction is completed, the participating user will receive confirmation via email. All transactions shall be paid in Mercari credit and the amount of the credit should be reflected in the user’s account within two (2) business days of the completed transaction. Subject to applicable law and Mercari policy, the Mercari credit issued as part of the Program does not have an expiration date.

  • Mercari credit received by a user as part of the Program may not be withdrawn to the user’s bank account via Direct Deposit, Instant Pay or any other means. Such credit can only be used to pay for items listed on the Mercari platform.

  • Any misuse of the Program, including the use of fraudulent, stolen or otherwise invalid gift cards, or any actions to misuse the Mercari platform may result in the permanent or temporary suspension or limitation of the user’s Mercari account. Mercari and CC may also report any misuse to the appropriate authorities.

  • If a user’s Mercari account is suspended, any Mercari credit received as part of the Program will be transferred to CC for proper escheatment handling.
